We are located in the Historic District of Danville, Virginia and just minutes from Virginia International Raceway. We are dedicated to the repair and restoration of classic British cars.

Recently Completed Reconstruction Projects
A recently completed project worthy of high-lighting is an Austin Healey Sprite that was a nuts and bolts restoration. But what makes it special are the modifications we performed to make the car more road friendly and fun to drive.
Racing and Wrenching
Southside British Cars evolved out of the Vintage Racing hobby and the need for a support base for the race team.
We are prepared to build you a Vintage Race Car using your car as a platform. We can prep and maintain your existing racecar if you need extended support services. We can find you a race-prepared car if you are inclined to put your toe in the Vintage Racing water and want to hit the ground running. Call us soon and we will discuss all of the options open to you with our racing programs.
The Shop
We are located in historic downtown Danville, just minutes from Virginia International Raceway (VIR). We are dedicated to the restoration and repair of vintage British Cars. We also host a vintage race team, Team 51 Racing.
Jim Allen
Jim is a co-owner and General Manager, helping to run the day-to-day operations. Jim's original "Team 51" vintage sports car race team is headquarted at Southside British Cars.
Mike Allen
Mike is also a co-owner and our premier Engine Specialist building reliable, conservative or high performance race and street engines. Mike also has served as the "wrench" and crew chief for the Team 51 since it's inception.
Tony Dix
Tony is a third hand and general mechanical reconditioning resource. He is also the owner of a MGB and long time British car enthusiast. Tony has many years of SCCA and vintage race support experience.
Gale Allen
Gale is the Secretary/Treasurer for SBC, Jim's wife and partner and the glue that holds it all together. Gale has worked Timing and Scoring for SVRA for many years supporting the racing side of the business.
